Minimal change for most governing Bodies in the amendments that came into force on 17 March 2012 and can be found at: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2012/421/contents/made

The changes encompass the following:
• the eligibility criteria for appointment as a staff governor
• the definition of foundation governors
• the disqualification criteria for appointment as a partnership governor
• removal of the reference to interim executive member in regulation twenty two
• update of the definition of appropriate religious body
• removal of the disqualification from serving as a governor whilst detained under the Mental Health Act
• update of the restrictions from serving as a governor during bankruptcy.
